This event is going to be the highlight of your year…This show is awesome!

Tania began her tribute to the award winning Amy Winehouse in July 07 and its taking London by storm.
Tania has a special passion for this tribute as she is impersonating one of her favourite singers of all time and it shows in her performance, she has perfected the unique style and sound that Amy is so famous for, but the best part of having Tania to entertain you is, unlike the real Amy, she wont be drunk and she will definitely turn up. This show takes place at the Pavillion, Broadstairs on the 2nd October.

Tickets are available for £10 from Soundhouse, Broadstairs. Or More on the Door.

Amy Winehouse @ Glastonbury 2008

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

Winehouse definitely lived up to expectations, as her tiny frame staggered around the stage with an array of various cocktail accessories in her beehive! After recent revelations about her poor health, it was impressive to see Amy managed to dart around the stage in her trade mark killer heels even remembering the names of her accompanying jazz band! It was quite clear to see she wasn’t as intoxicated as she has been at previous performances, even though she did have the occasional drink and opted to scat through some of the songs rather than actually sing them. It was clear to see the nerves still kicked in on her first performance ‘Addicted’, the only song on her current album not inspired by her ‘Blakey’ but by her love of smoking weed!

In an hours performance she got through twelve songs, remembering nearly all of the words and occasionally throwing in the impromptu lyric, but it didn’t seem to take her long to find her feet. Some of the songs performed that night included well-known-crowd-pleasers such as ’Back To Black’ and ’You Know I’m No Good’ as well as the lesser-known works like ‘Cupid’ and ‘Hey Little Rich Girl’.

Given the recent traumas in Amy’s life, there was something quite heroic about her performance that night. As always it’s quite shocking to hear such a massive voice come from such an emaciated body, and the crowd were somewhat impressed as she ran along the stage clasping hands with some of them as she performed ‘Me and Mr. Jones.’ Even the security guards had trouble to keep up with her as she skipped up and down the stage in front of the hoards of fans.Organisers claimed that she drew in the largest crowd that night, but I wonder whether this was to see her make a fool of herself rather than actually hear her perform.

I think the crowd would have been pleasantly surprised and glad to see that she appears to be back on track, but for how long? Recent rumours about her and her husband Blake Fielder-Civil having some troubles were dismissed as she informed the crowd on more than one occasion that he was in her thoughts, and that he was being released from prison in two weeks. Whether or not this will hinder her recovery is another matter.

However Amy Winehouse did end up getting pulled off stage by security after a scuffle with a crowd member;  This started during her rather sketchy rendition of ‘Rehab’ in which she jumped into the photographers pit. Video evidence shows that Winehouse appears to elbow someone in the front row. Police have reported that no complaints were made.
