Get Loaded In The Park After Party!

Everyone’s talking about Noah and the Whale, and real soon there’ll be another 20,000 people talking about them as we’re absolutely thrilled to announce the amazing folk-rock four-piece will be gracing the Get Loaded Main Stage as the final act added to the bill. We always try and keep at least one slot back for one final breakthrough band (e.g. last year we nabbed Newton Faulkner the week he went No.1!) and we’re over the moon to have captured NATW before future summer smash ‘Five Years Time’ is set to gatecrash the UK Top 10.

Taken from the album ‘Peaceful the World Lays Me Down’ (released on 11 August), ‘Five Years Time’ is a wonderfully cheery feel-good song and the perfect festival soundtrack. Whereas last year Rhianna gave us her ‘Umbrella’ track and months of rain, it looks like Noah and the Whale are the real reasons behind the recent good weather as they sing about “Sun, Sun, Sun all over our bodies”!! Let’s hope so too, as Get Loaded in the Park is renowned for bringing out the summer sun! Oh, and seeing as GLITP is now in its 5th year, it was always meant to be right?

From the Common’s green grass to The Clapham Grand’s flashing dancefloor (yes really!)…. the party continues a short stagger away as we ask you to Get Loaded some more at our Official Festival After Party, cunningly titled Get Loaded in the Dark. Powered by cool clothing label Gio Goi, we wanted to round off your Bank Holiday weekend with a bang and needless to say we’ve pulled out all the stops to bring you the mother of all after parties!! Messiness is a must!! Returning to the scene of last year’s lively affair (with 2manydjs), we’ll be bringing even more of the big guns from this summer’s festival, plus a few surprises along the way to make this the perfect post-Get Loaded place to be.
First up we have the ‘heavyweight champion of the world’, Jon McClure - frontman for the ace Reverend & The Makers. When not performing live, he’s well known for his DJ skillz up north and he’ll be tearing up his infamous ‘Soundsystem’ set, as the big Rev unwinds after a headline slot in the XFM stage. Joining him will be another man of the clergy (well sort of…) the maraca-shaking, party-pleasing Bez from the Happy Mondays. As an original Get Loaded resident, we go way back to the days when Bez, Shaun Ryder, Mani & co would DJ at Get Loaded’s monthly mid-week knees up at Turnmills.

You always know what you’re getting with Bez and having been part of the reformed Happy Mondays exclusively for the first ever Get Loaded in the Park festival back in 2004, and then again in 2005, we open him back with open arms. 5 years on from those hedonistic parties, it seemed like the perfect thing to do. Leaving Bez and The Rev to rock out the indie beats, we turn to the cut n’ paste king DJ Yoda, to bring on the party classics and cheeky
cuts that we’ve come to love and expect from  one of the most innovative DJs ever.

His recent ‘Magic Cinema’ tour showcased his talents as the leader of the visual DJ experience and he’ll be back on the decks fresh from the Finger Lickin stage to pump up the jam good n’ proper into the early wee hours. Also on the bill is Get Loaded’s exclusive host for the day Beardyman, who’ll again show us why he’s the best beatboxer, like in the orld, ever… plus XFM’s radio guru John Kennedy hot foots it from the Common and his XFM stage to set the night on its way, with Together residents and future-superstars Streetlife DJs finishing off the night in true acid house fashion.
